The Schedule is at the top of the Light-O-Rama Schedule/Show/Sequence hierarchy:
The Schedule is composed of Shows, created by The Light-O-Rama Show Editor.
Shows are composed of Animation Sequences or Musical Sequences created by the Light-O-Rama Sequence Editor or imported from Dasher files. Sequences are composed of commands to be sent to your lights.
The Schedule has two parts: a Weekly Schedule and a Calendar Schedule. The Weekly Schedule contains information on shows that should be played on a recurring, weekly basis. The Calendar Schedule contains information on shows that should be played once, on a specific date.
When Light-O-Rama looks at the schedule, it first looks at the Calendar Schedule to see if there are any shows scheduled for the current date. If there are shows scheduled for the current date, Light-O-Rama will use the Calendar Schedule. If there are no shows scheduled for the current date, Light-O-Rama will use the Weekly Schedule.
Suppose you have a single show which you want to show every Friday and Saturday night, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, except for Christmas Eve, when you want the show to run from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and Christmas Day, when you want the show to run from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The Friday and Saturday schedules would go into the Weekly Schedule and the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day schedules would go into the Calendar Schedule. Light-O-Rama will follow the Weekly Schedule on every day except for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, when it will follow the Calendar Schedule.
Considerations
Unlike the The Light-O-Rama Show Editor, which allows you to create many Shows, and the Light-O-Rama Sequence Editor, which allows you to create many Sequences, the Schedule Editor only maintains a single Schedule.
Light-O-Rama will not play any scheduled shows unless it is started, and shows are activated. See Controlling Light-O-Rama from the System Tray for more details. |
