Choosing a ControllerThe Showtime series of controllers are pre-assembled. All you need to do is plug them into the wall, hook up your lights, and you are ready to go! No additional assembly is required.
The Hobbyist versions come with only the controller. It's up to you to mount the controller in an enclosure and connect the power cords. The Hobbyist version of LOR can save you a considerable amount of money if you are able to find the power cords and enclosures at a good price.
The DIY controllers require even more work from the end user. This comes as a kit, which you must assemble using solder and a soldering iron. Most people who have experience with soldering report no troubles assembling this kit. Once complete, you will need to mount the controller in your own enclosure and connect your own power cords. For a difference between the CTB-16D and the PC versions, please review this chart.Â
